Welcome to the Home Page of
the Incredible
Mr. Mango Kitty

In 2001, a wild mother cat and her 3 tiny kittens discovered our property.  Soon after, the momma
and 2 of the kittens left leaving one little orange tabby kitten. He stayed around
but ran from us every time we approached him. We then contacted Animal Advocates,
a local non-profit group. They arrived and trapped him, brought him to their facilities,
gave him a rabies shot and neutered him. Deeming that he was "too wild"
to place in a home, they returned with him and released him on our property.

Slowly but surely we won him over with bits of chicken and other food. At night,
he stayed in a crawl space under our house and spent his first winter there.
As time went by, he slowly came closer to us until he would take food out of our hand,
and then at some point, he let us pet him. Thus began a new chapter in the life of Mango Kitty.

We put a dog house on our front porch...but not just any dog house.
We wrapped it with a sleeping bag and then plastic. Inside we put various blankets
and a pillow over a heated kennel pad. Mr. Mango took to it immediately and made it his home.
He now had a heated and insulated dog house that had every comfort except
Satellite TV ( we are working on that, but he wants a package of movies that's too expensive).
Just outside of his house he has a heated water dish. During the Winter, he lives
in a rather toasty 60-65 degree dog house.

Whenever the temperature drops into the single numbers and below, we hijack Mr. Mango
and put him in a cage in the nice warm grooming room for the night. He does not struggle
and seems to appreciate this act of taming him further. We were formerly indifferent to cats,
but we have grown to love Mr. Mango Kitty. He is truly a permanent member of the Strangedays family.

The Revised Mango Kitty House
He now has a new addition, a "sun porch" encased in plastic
that leads to his heated house. We thought it would be nice if he could
eat his meals outside of his house and still be protected from the wind

Note the Holiday touch. Along with his "wicker chair"
he has his Christmas Tree up and ready.

Some of the wild animals fled when Mango Kitty
made his home here

Some just continued going about their normal routine

And some seemed to be happy.....

.....UNTIL MANGO DECIDED THEY WERE A THREAT TO HIS DOMAIN AND DISCOVERED THEY WERE "TASTY TREATS"

Now, Mr. Kitty rules the land (well, at least the front of our property)

And thus the saga of our Mr. Mango Kitty

Look for an addition to Mango's house as a "Florida Room"
has been added to his home. Pictures coming soon.
